What is Holme Valley Private Nursing?
Holme Valley Private Nursing is an independent, community-based nursing service providing high-quality, compassionate care in patients’ homes across Holmfirth and surrounding areas. Founded and operated by a fully qualified and experience Registered Nurse, the business aims to bridge the growing gap between hospital and community care by offering flexible, professional support for individuals requiring “one off”, short term care or ongoing nursing assistance.
Services include but are not limited to: personal care, wound care, medication management, nutritional support, mental health support, palliative care, respite care, and nurse advocacy. The service operates on a flexible appointment basis, ensuring accessibility and continuity of care.
Meet the Owner - Registered Nurse Chloe
With over 12 years experience in the NHS I have developed extensive knowledge and a wide range of clinical skills through my work within acute NHS settings. For the past 9 years, I have specialised in trauma and orthopaedics, gaining in-depth expertise in managing complex and high-pressure clinical scenarios. I am now in the process of starting my own freelance community nursing business providing high-quality, compassionate care in patients’ homes across Holmfirth and surrounding areas.
The service primarily focuses on short-term or one-off nursing visits for those who either cannot access or prefer not to use NHS services. While the emphasis is on short-term care, long-term arrangements can be accommodated based on individual client needs.

The Story behind Holme Valley Private Nursing
The idea for this business was inspired by my experience caring for my grandmother, who needed short-term overnight care while unwell. Though she didn’t require hospital admission, she still needed professional monitoring and reassurance.
As a nurse, I could provide that care — but I realised that without me, her only option might have been hospitalisation. Researching existing services revealed a clear gap: few options for short-term, in-home professional support.
This experience motivated me to create a service that fills that gap — offering accessible, person-centred, and responsive nursing care for individuals and families needing temporary support at home.

Emergency Call Outs
Reasons you may need a qualified nurse out of hours!
You have a family member with a long wait for an ambulance, you live far away and would like someone to support them during their wait.
You're concerned about a relative who may have fallen or become unwell but does not seem to need an ambulance or does not want to go to hospital.
You are having issues with a medical device and don't want to go to hospital in the middle of the night to get it sorted out!
You've had an accident but have difficulty leaving the house. You want to get checked out but from the comfort of your own home.
You're in the middle of a mental health crisis and feel you are alone with no-one to help you.
[Emergency Call Outs - Subject to Availability]
Emergency Call Outs between the hours of 10pm and 6am incur a £150 call out fee plus Night Time base rate.
Opening Hours and Fees
Hours of Operation - (Minimum visit time 30 minutes)
Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm - Basic Rate £30 for 30 minutes
Limited weekend, early morning (6am to 9am) and evening (5pm to 8pm) hours available - Rate £40 for 30 minutes
Night Rate (8pm onwards) - Rate £50 for 30 minutes - pre-bookable only!
10pm to 6am - Emergency call outs - subject to availability - call out fee £150 applies plus night time base rate
(As I am not an NHS provider, individual medical supplies will be charged as applicable e.g. wound dressings, catheters, stoma bags etc. There will no be no charge if using own supplies.)
When the service first launches - my availability will be more limited until I am fully established due to working at my current job.
Appointments will be limited to Monday to Wednesday morning plus weekends until I can freelance full time.

I aim to provide community services within a 10 mile radius of my home near Holmfirth. The map below gives an approximate service area.
